Chinese Language Lecturer (Princeton, NJ)
The Department of East Asian Studies invites applications for Chinese language lecturer positions that may become available beginning September 2017. We seek candidates with backgrounds in disciplines such as Chinese linguistics, literature, history, or foreign language teaching. Applications should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a statement of teaching interest. All applicants must also submit a video of Chinese language teaching between 30 to 50 minutes long. The teaching demo is preferred to be accessible online with the link attached at the end of your resume. A writing sample is optional (e.g., a dissertation chapter). Requirements include native or near-native fluency in Chinese; teaching experience; and Ph.D., ABD, or M.A. in Chinese linguistics, literature, history or relevant discipline. The review of applications will begin in mid-October 2016. Preliminary interviews will be held at CLTA conferences in November 2016 in Boston.
